Portugal: How to Report Online Shopping Fraud

Fake seller, an order that never arrived, a refund that was refused, or a call from a fake “customer care” number? Here is how to report it to the shopping platforms people use in Portugal, and where to go if the platform won’t help.

Do this first

  1. Never call a “customer care” number from Google, social media or a message. Many shopping platforms have no phone line at all, and those numbers belong to scammers.
  2. Report the problem inside the official app or website of the platform you used (details below).
  3. If you paid by card, bank transfer or a payment app, call your bank’s fraud line straight away: see bank fraud lines in Portugal.
  4. Report the crime to the police: see who handles cybercrime in Portugal.

OLX in Portugal

olx.pt

Report a problem or scam: Tell OLX through the 'Escreva-nos' contact form on its help articles and file a complaint with the Polícia Judiciária. Keep the messages, payment proof and ad ID.

Report a seller or listing: Report the ad or user in the app or through the contact form.

Fake OLX messages or sites: Real OLX and CTT emails come from [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected], and OLX links start with olx.pt/. Addresses such as olx.pt.entregas.info and w-olx.com are fake.

  • An Entregas OLX delivery is always started by the seller, never the buyer, so don't use a delivery link sent by a buyer.
  • OLX and CTT never ask for your card number, CVV or expiry date when you sell, and never ask for advance payments.
