BDO Unibank Fraud: How to Report It and Stop the Money

If money left your BDO Unibank account without your permission, or you paid a scammer, contact BDO Unibank straight away and ask it to block the payment and your card. The first minutes matter most.

Do this first

  1. Call BDO Unibank’s official line below, or use help inside the official BDO Unibank app. Never use a number from a text, a caller or a search result.
  2. Give them the transaction details (amount, time, and the account or number you paid) and ask them to block your card and stop or recall the payment.
  3. Change your online banking password and PIN if anyone may know them. BDO Unibank will never ask for your PIN, password or a one-time code.
  4. Report it to the police too: see who handles cybercrime in Philippines, and keep screenshots of every message and payment.

Know this about Philippines

  • A refund under AFASA is not automatic: an institution found to have adequate security controls is not liable.
  • GCash asks you to report unauthorised transactions within 15 days. That deadline is GCash's own rule, not the law, but report as early as you can.

Your rights as a BDO Unibank customer in Philippines

  • Republic Act No. 12010, Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA). Banks and e-wallets must protect accounts with adequate security controls. One that fails to do so, or fails to use the highest degree of diligence, must return the lost funds, and no criminal conviction is needed first. Institutions may temporarily hold funds in a disputed transaction, including social-engineering scams, for up to 30 days unless a court extends it. Source
