United Airlines: Official Contacts and How to Report a Scam
Fake airline support numbers on search ads and social media take real money. Here is what United Airlines officially publishes: contact numbers, the domains it uses, its own scam warnings, refund rules and the regulator to complain to.
Do this first
- Do not call a number from a search ad, social post or message. Use the numbers below or the help section of the official United Airlines app or website.
- No airline needs you to pay with gift cards, move money to a "safe" account or install remote-access software. If someone asks, hang up.
- If you paid by card or bank transfer, call your bank's fraud line now.
- Keep your booking reference and any messages, then report using the routes below.

Official domains United Airlines lists: united.com. A link or email address on any other domain is not from United Airlines.
What United Airlines says about scams: United lists search engine fraud (hackers manipulate top search results to a fake site), contact center scams (someone pretends to be a representative), account hacking, prize fraud, social media scams and fake invoices. It says it will never charge a fee to join MileagePlus or keep your membership, and will never contact you from a non-official phone number or email address. It publishes its official numbers and email for the US and Canada.
Report a scam or fraud: Page directs you to report suspicious websites directly to Google, the FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov) and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (ic3.gov). Official contact email is [email protected]. No phishing-forwarding address read on the page.

United refund policy: If your flight is delayed, cancelled or disrupted and you choose not to travel you can request a full refund to the original payment method; refund eligibility for significant schedule change is set at domestic 3 hours / international 6 hours.
