Qantas: Official Contacts and How to Report a Scam

Fake airline support numbers on search ads and social media take real money. Here is what Qantas officially publishes: contact numbers, the domains it uses, its own scam warnings, refund rules and the regulator to complain to.

Do this first

  1. Do not call a number from a search ad, social post or message. Use the numbers below or the help section of the official Qantas app or website.
  2. No airline needs you to pay with gift cards, move money to a "safe" account or install remote-access software. If someone asks, hang up.
  3. If you paid by card or bank transfer, call your bank's fraud line now.
  4. Keep your booking reference and any messages, then report using the routes below.

Qantas in Australia

  • Qantas Customer Service (within Australia):13 13 13(24 hours, 7 days)
  • Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre (Australia):13 11 31
  • Frequent Flyer account compromised (outside Australia):+61 2 9433 2329

What Qantas says about scams: Qantas says it does not contact customers to ask for PINs or passwords (including one-time passwords) by text or email, and warns about unsolicited calls, SMS, WhatsApp messages or emails claiming to be Qantas. The page lists current scams (e.g. October 2026 Qantas Pay account-verification phishing emails). Scamwatch independently confirms refund/gift/points-expiry link scams (alert dated 9 Feb 2026).

Report a scam or fraud: Report to Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam), then use Qantas' scam report form on the cyber-safety page; if outside Australia use your local scam agency. Contact your bank if payment details were exposed, and IDCARE (idcare.org) if personal information was compromised. If a Qantas Frequent Flyer account may be compromised call 13 11 31 (Australia) or +61 2 9433 2329 (outside Australia).

Qantas complaints process: Complaints are made via Qantas' online feedback form or by phone; Qantas acknowledges web complaints within 3 working days with a reference number. If booked via a travel agent, deal with the agent first. The ACCC notes consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law can entitle travellers to a replacement or refund when flights are cancelled or delayed, and that airline compensation policies do not replace these guarantees.
