FedEx: Official Contacts and How to Report a Scam

Got a message or call about a FedEx parcel, a redelivery fee or a customs charge? Here is what FedEx officially publishes: its real contact numbers, the domains it uses, what it says it will never do, and where to report a scam.

Do this first

  1. Do not click the link or call the number in the message. Open the official FedEx website or app yourself and enter the tracking number there.
  2. Check the sender against the official domains and phone numbers below. Anything else is not from FedEx.
  3. If you already paid or typed in card details, call your bank's fraud line now.
  4. Report the message using the routes below, then tell the regulator if FedEx won't help.

FedEx in United States

fedex.com

Official domains FedEx lists: fedex.com. A link or email address on any other domain is not from FedEx.

What FedEx says about scams: FedEx says it never requests payment or personal information in exchange for releasing a package and does not request account credentials or identity details by unsolicited mail, email or text. For international packages FedEx may email or SMS a secure link to pay duties and taxes, which can be verified with the FedEx Import Tool. The page carries a current warning about emails/SMS pushing links on a .shop domain.

Report a scam or fraud: Forward suspicious messages to [email protected] and verify information through legitimate FedEx channels. If you do not have a FedEx account but keep getting package notifications, treat them as likely phishing; if you can provide invoice/account/tracking number or confirmed card charges, call Fraud on 1.800.584.2681. If you have already interacted and lost money, contact your bank immediately; consider the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center or your state Attorney General.

Forward scam messages to: [email protected]

  • FedEx lists misspelled addresses such as fedx.com or fed-ex.com as a warning sign.
  • FedEx never requests payment or personal information in exchange for releasing a package; the only legitimate payment links are for international duties and taxes, checkable in the FedEx Import Tool.
  • FedEx says unsolicited FedEx notices for packages you did not order are more than likely phishing.

If FedEx won’t help:

FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) / state Attorney General: As named on the FedEx report-fraud page. FTC: reportfraud.ftc.gov/ is the general US route but is not on the FedEx page.
