Booking.com: Official Contacts and How to Report a Scam

Fake listings, fake payment links and fake support numbers target Booking.com customers. Here is what Booking.com officially publishes: contacts, the domains it uses, its scam warnings and how to report a problem.

Do this first

  1. Keep all payment and messages inside the official Booking.com website or app. Be wary of anyone asking you to pay or chat elsewhere.
  2. Do not call a number from a search ad or a message. Use the numbers and pages below.
  3. If you paid by card, bank transfer or gift card, call your bank's fraud line now.
  4. Report the listing or message with the routes below, then use the regulator if the company won't help.

Official domains Booking.com lists: booking.com, secure.booking.com. A link or email address on any other domain is not from Booking.com.

What Booking.com says about scams: Booking.com says it will never ask you to share credit card details by email, phone, text or WhatsApp, and never to make a bank transfer that differs from the payment policy in your booking confirmation. It warns of phishing messages (often over WhatsApp) that claim to come from the accommodation or Booking.com, quote real stay dates and costs, and urgently ask you to re-share payment info to keep the booking; it also says no legitimate transaction needs gift cards.

Report a scam or fraud: Guests: use the 'Report to Booking.com' / 'Contact Customer Service' button on the Safety Tips page, which opens the help form at secure.booking.com/help.html; if you clicked a link or shared details, contact Customer Service immediately so it reaches the Security team, reset your password, enable two-factor authentication and ask your bank to block the card. Accommodation partners: 'Report a security issue' form at partner.booking.com/en-us/help/account-and-log/security/report-security-issue (suspicious email must be forwarded as an .eml/.msg attachment).

Cancellation and payment policy shown on your booking: Customer Service page says cancellation fees are set by the property and listed in your cancellation policy; the property usually charges the card unless the booking confirmation clearly says Booking.com handles payment; 'test payment' holds are returned. • Fake properties are fraudulent listings; a much lower price than comparable properties is a common red flag.
  • A payment request with urgency (e.g. 'transfer within 24 hours or the booking is cancelled') or a property insisting on communicating outside the Booking.com platform should be reported to Customer Service.
  • Customer Service reps will only ask for your reservation ID and/or PIN, not your Booking.com password or card number.
