Emergency requests

Yubo may respond directly and rapidly to law enforcement requests in cases of imminent danger (threats to life, health or freedom, imminent attacks, crimes involving minors, confirmed criminal activity on the platform); the requester must justify the urgency and it is assessed case by case. Contact: Via the Kodex portal; [email protected] is for problems accessing Kodex.

What Yubo says about legal process

  • Legal process. Requests need a subpoena, search warrant or court order from a recognised authority, naming the agency, an official email and date, the offence and legal provision, specific data types, users and a date range; blanket or vague requests are not processed. Content data is excluded by default unless explicitly requested and legally justified. Account identification needs a username (most reliable), phone number or email.
  • Requests from other countries. Agencies outside France should use MLAT or letters rogatory; Yubo may cooperate directly if the request follows a proactive Yubo report or in urgent situations (imminent danger, crimes involving minors, dangerous threats) where the requester justifies the emergency.
  • Preservation. Preservation requests from recognised law enforcement are accepted: must be officially issued and specify the account identifier(s) and data type; data is preserved for a limited time (period not stated) and deleted if no formal request follows. Preservation is not disclosure.
  • Notifying the user. Twelve-App may be required to notify users before disclosure unless prohibited by law, prejudicial to an investigation (e.g. child safety, terrorism) or risky for individuals; the requesting agency must say whether the user must be notified.
