How Police Request Data from WazirX

Police and government officials send lawful requests to WazirX through a legal-process email address. The details below are taken from WazirX's own published guidelines.

Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not WazirX and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact WazirX directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.

Where to send the request

What WazirX says about legal process

  • Legal process. A valid court order from a competent jurisdiction or police orders/warrants is required for user information in an ongoing criminal investigation; requests without copies of official supporting documents are not processed.
  • Preservation. After receiving a preservation order request relating to a criminal investigation, WazirX will preserve records for 90 days; extending the period needs an additional request.
  • Notifying the user. Unless a court order or police warrant specifies otherwise and there is a valid legal basis, WazirX may notify the relevant user before disclosing personal data.
