How Police Request Data from Viber
Police and government officials send lawful requests to Viber through its law-enforcement portal. The details below are taken from Viber's own published guidelines.
Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not Viber and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact Viber directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.

What Viber says about legal process
- Legal process. Account Records are disclosed only under applicable EU Member State laws or US federal laws (e.g. Stored Communications Act), on subpoenas, court orders, search warrants or another regulatory mechanism; requests must come from an official government email domain. Private messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted and not retained.
- Requests from other countries. Requests from outside the EU or US must be based on a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT).
- Preservation. Viber preserves available Account Records offline for up to 90 days on a signed and dated preservation request, extendable once for 90 days on a formal extension request.
- Notifying the user. Viber notifies users before disclosing Account Records, except where prohibited by law or legal process, or where an emergency poses significant risk including harm to minors.
