How Police Request Data from Uber
Police and government officials send lawful requests to Uber through its law-enforcement portal. The details below are taken from Uber's own published guidelines.
Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not Uber and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact Uber directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.
Where to send the request

|---|---|
| Postal address | EEA, Swiss and UK authorities: Uber B.V., Burgerweeshuispad 301, 1076 HR, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. All other authorities: Public Safety Response Team, Uber Technologies, Inc. (UTI), 1725 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94158. |
| Legal entity | Uber Technologies, Inc. (all authorities other than EEA/Swiss/UK); Uber B.V. (EEA, Swiss and UK authorities) |

Emergency requests
Emergency disclosure requests can be submitted through the Portal or by email with an Emergency Disclosure Form attached; the requester must certify danger of death or serious physical injury and that delay for local legal process poses significant risk; Uber decides case by case at its sole discretion. Contact: Portal https://lert.uber.com (the guidelines mention email submission but the page lists no email address).
What Uber says about legal process
- Legal process. Legal process must be addressed to the right Uber entity, issued under the requesting authority's local law, signed and dated by an appropriate authority, identify accounts by unique identifiers (email, phone, licence plate) and be uploaded in a non-editable format such as PDF.
- Requests from other countries. Uber generally requires a valid U.S. court order obtained via MLAT, MLAA or letter rogatory to disclose content to authorities outside the US; conduct must be a crime in the US and the target's country (for EEA/Swiss/UK data, in the Netherlands or the US).
- Preservation. Uber may preserve records pending legal process; a preservation is a one-time snapshot, not ongoing monitoring, and Uber may reject such requests for any reason.
- Notifying the user. Uber may notify users unless law prohibits it; authorities can ask Uber not to contact anyone, and Uber will not if it believes notice risks serious injury or death or prejudices the administration of justice.
