How Police Request Data from Signal

Signal does not publish a dedicated law-enforcement contact. Below is what its own pages say about legal process, and where an officer can start.

Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not Signal and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact Signal directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.

No police contact published

We checked Signal’s official legal, privacy and help pages on 17 October 2026 and found no address, portal or email for law-enforcement requests. Its privacy contact is [email protected]; this is a privacy address, not a police intake. Postal: Attn: Privacy, Signal Messenger, LLC, 650 Castro Street, Suite 120-223, Mountain View, CA 94041.

What Signal says about legal process

  • Legal process. Signal states it holds almost no user data (no message content, contacts, profile, group or call data); in published grand jury subpoena responses it could only produce account registration time and last connection date.
  • Requests from other countries. Not stated on the official page.
