How Police Request Data from Pinterest
Police and government officials send lawful requests to Pinterest through its law-enforcement portal. The details below are taken from Pinterest's own published guidelines.
Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not Pinterest and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact Pinterest directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.

Emergency requests
Police may submit a disclosure request through the portal where there is danger of death or serious physical injury; reviewed case by case. Contact: Portal above; authorised officials may also call (415) 636-9043 about legal process and emergency requests.
What Pinterest says about legal process
- Legal process. US: a valid subpoena, court order or search warrant is needed for user information; content requires a search warrant.
- Requests from other countries. A valid US court order obtained via mutual legal assistance treaties or letters rogatory may be required.
- Preservation. Preservation and production requests are both made through the portal; the page gives no retention period.
- Notifying the user. Pinterest generally notifies users before producing information (sending a copy of the request), except where legally prohibited, in emergencies, or where notice would not reach the account holder; officer-written affidavits or cover letters alone do not block notice.
