What Gate.io says about legal process
- Legal process. A stamped and/or signed court order, subpoena, warrant or official agency letter, in English, sent from an official government email domain with proof of the sender's authority (e.g. badge photo or appointment letter); internal review usually takes 5-15 working days.
- Requests from other countries. Not specifically addressed; Gate states its response is not consent to the requesting jurisdiction and reserves the right to challenge jurisdiction.
- Preservation. Requests must state the duration and extent of requested actions such as a freeze; no separate preservation-request process is described, and Gate may be unable to keep a freeze in place for long without the agency's approval.
- Notifying the user. Gate will not tell the user that a freeze or seizure came from a law enforcement request and will not disclose the request to the user without the agency's prior permission.
