How Police Request Data from Freecharge
Freecharge does not publish a dedicated law-enforcement contact. Below is what its own pages say about legal process, and where an officer can start.
Ministry of Cyber Affairs is not Freecharge and cannot create or reset portal accounts, pass on requests or release data. Contact Freecharge directly. Is this your company? Request a correction.
No police contact published
We checked Freecharge’s official legal, privacy and help pages on 17 October 2026 and found no address, portal or email for law-enforcement requests. The closest official channel it publishes: Freecharge customer grievance policy for bill payments and recharges (version linked from freecharge.in/contactus): Level 1 [email protected] and helpline 9773579100 (Mon to Sat, 10 AM to 7 PM per the contact page and that policy); Level 2 Grievance Officer [email protected]; Level 3 Nodal Officer, Freecharge Payment Technologies Private Limited, DLF Cyber Green, 10th Floor, Tower-C, DLF Cyber City, DLF Phase-3, Gurugram, Haryana 122022, India (the linked policy gives [email protected]; an older-looking V1.5 copy on the same server gives [email protected]). Merchant side (freechargepg.in): [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. These are grievance contacts, not a law-enforcement intake.
What Freecharge says about legal process
- Legal process. Freecharge's merchant grievance policy says that where law enforcement agencies, regulators, governments, courts or banks are involved in an investigation, customers and merchants must follow the processes and documentation those participants require. It also says that when Freecharge receives alerts from law enforcement agencies (for example via the NCRP portal, or emails from the Income Tax Department or MHA) about unauthorised transactions, it takes reasonable steps to stop the transaction at the merchant's end and recover funds (turnaround from immediate to 24 hours), and that a dedicated team with an 'LEA Nodal Officer' handles these. No contact for that officer is published.
