What Cashfree Payments says about legal process
- Legal process. Cashfree's grievance policy covers fraud alerts from law enforcement agencies: when it receives an alert through the NCRP portal, or emails from the Income Tax Department, MHA and similar, about an unauthorised transaction, it takes reasonable steps to stop the transaction at the merchant's end to recover funds or obtain proof that goods or services were provided in good faith, and follows any other LEA instruction; a dedicated team and a Nodal Officer (LEA support) handle these. Its 'Obligation of Secrecy' section says that when considering requests for data or information from the Government and other agencies, Cashfree checks the request against banking-secrecy law, with exceptions including disclosure under compulsion of law. No subpoena, warrant or court-order procedure is described.
