What Block (Square, Cash App) says about legal process

  • Legal process. Non-public information is released only under appropriate legal process such as a valid subpoena, search warrant, court order or other valid legal process; overly broad or vague requests are not processed, so identify the Square accounts and transactions. Minimum response time is currently 60 days from receipt of valid legal process. Civil third-party subpoenas are not accepted via the law enforcement portal, email or mail and must be served on the agent for service of process, CT Corporation.
  • Requests from other countries. Block's page states no procedure for foreign agencies. Square publishes country pages for its local entities: Square AU Pty. Ltd. (request form block.xyz/legal/government/inforequestform/au; [email protected] for status updates only, no service by email), Square Canada Inc. and Square Technologies, Inc. (form .../inforequestform/ca; [email protected] for status updates only, no service by email), Squareup Europe Ltd. in the UK (form .../inforequestform/gb; [email protected]), Squareup International Limited in Ireland (its page links a separate request form; [email protected]), and Square Japan ([email protected] and a request form linked from its page). These cover Square accounts in those countries, not Cash App. No India-specific route is published.
  • Preservation. Block's Law Enforcement Response Team processes preservation requests alongside subpoenas, court orders and search warrants; no retention period is stated.
