Carousell: How to Report a Scam or Fraud
Scammed by a seller, charged for an order you didn’t place, or contacted by someone claiming to be Carousell? Here are the official ways to report it in 3 countries, read on Carousell’s own help pages, plus the buyer-protection deadline and where to escalate.
Do this first
- Stop all contact and payments. Carousell will never ask you to pay outside its own checkout, share a one-time code or install a remote-access app.
- Report it inside the official Carousell app or website (steps below), not through a link or number you were sent.
- Carousell has no public customer-care phone number. Any number claiming to be Carousell support is a scam.
- If you paid by card, bank transfer or a payment app, call your bank’s fraud line now: see Bank Fraud Help.
- Watch the buyer-protection deadline below: claims made late are usually refused.
Know this about Carousell
- Carousell will never send you to an outside payment link: fake 'Buyer Protection' links are a known scam.
- Keep chats and payments on Carousell. Do not move to Telegram or WhatsApp, and never use a payment link sent by a buyer.
Carousell in Singapore

Report a problem or scam: For an in-app order, raise a dispute on the Order Details page. Otherwise, report the user from the chat or their profile.
Report a seller or listing: In the app: chat or profile › ⋯ › Report user (for example Phishing scammer), or listing › ⋯ › Report Listing. Reports are anonymous.
Carousell Buyer Protection: Covers items that never arrive (tracked delivery only) or are very different from the listing, when you paid with the in-app Buy button. Cash, bank transfer or PayNow outside the app is not covered. Claim by the earliest of: 2 days after it shows as delivered, 10 days after the maximum delivery time, or when you confirm receipt.
Fake Carousell messages or sites: Carousell never asks for your contact or card details and never sends you to an outside payment link. Report anyone who does.
- Carousell has no customer service phone number: help is through the Help Centre chat and message form, so any number claiming to be Carousell is fake.
If Carousell won’t help:
- CASE (Consumers Association of Singapore) (6277 5100): First stop for a consumer complaint; CASE can negotiate or mediate with the business. If that fails, you can take your claim to the Small Claims Tribunal.
- Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS): The consumer regulator; it does not help with individual disputes or refunds, and points shoppers to CASE.
