El Salvador: Cybercrime & Cybersecurity Agencies
In El Salvador, cybercrime against people goes to the police cybercrime unit, and technical incidents go to the national CERT.
Police cybercrime unit
Unidad de Delitos Ciberneticos
Part of: Policia Nacional Civil (PNC)
National CERT / cybersecurity authority
Agencia de Ciberseguridad del Estado (ACE)
Part of: Executive branch (director appointed by the President), created by the Ley de Ciberseguridad y Seguridad de la Informacion, 2024
Official websiteNotes
- SalCERT is referenced on the Presidency cybersecurity page and has no site of its own; no official PNC cybercrime page was confirmed.
- Unit name comes from a UNICEF El Salvador page because the PNC site (pnc.gob.sv) does not list it, and no cybercrime-specific reporting page was found (PNC homepage only shows general 911 and 123 systems).
Names and links were checked against official government or FIRST/ITU sources. Agencies are renamed and reorganised often, so check the official site before relying on it. See all countries in the cyber agencies directory.
