NFSU-NCSAM Hackathon 2026: 200 Students in 50 Teams Tackle Mobile and RFID Security

National Forensic Sciences University held the NFSU-NCSAM Hackathon 2026, where 200 students in 50 teams worked on two security challenges, Mobile Security and RFID Security. The event used a Think, Code, Solve, Innovate format and was run by the university's School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics during National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
Fifty teams with 200 students took part in the NFSU-NCSAM Hackathon 2026, hosted by National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
Two Challenge Tracks
Teams worked on two problem areas:
- Mobile Security: threats to smartphones and mobile apps, now the main way Indians bank, pay and communicate
- RFID Security: weaknesses in radio-frequency identification, the technology behind access cards, toll tags, payment cards and supply-chain tracking
Think, Code, Solve, Innovate
The hackathon followed a four-stage approach: Think, Code, Solve, Innovate.
Teams moved from defining the problem to building working prototypes.
Photos from the event show a full auditorium of student teams working on laptops, with faculty mentors going from team to team.
Building the Talent Pipeline
The event was run by NFSU's School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics (SCSDF), which said the hackathon reaffirms its commitment to technical excellence.
Events like this give students hands-on work on problems investigators and security teams deal with, at a time when mobile fraud and contactless-card abuse keep growing.
