WhatsApp Call Investigation | Data request from WhatsApp for Police and Government

1. Go to https://www.whatsapp.com/records/login?lang=en_US Or simply google "WhatsApp LERS Portal"

2. Tick on I am authorized law enforcement agent or government employee

3. Put official government Email ID

4. A temporary Login link will be sent to the Email ID - Check for all folders - spam, notification etc. for the link

5. Click on the mail received from "records@records.whatsapp.com"

6. Preservation Request : (This will not require any legal notice or letter)

Preservation allows to save the metadata or information related to a particular WhatsApp account on that particular time or date. This is useful when you don’t have permission at hand and don’t want suspect data to be altered or deleted.

Put the whatsapp account number which you want to preserve and click submit, the data will be preserved in WhatsApp Law Enforcement Portal. A small message will appear with case number:

If you need information related to WhatsApp user, select time and paste the phone number with country code

Under Legal Process, select your country’s code – Ex. If it is India, it will be Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
